Session Notes
- Agencies must first understand what they have in order to provide "helpful" data to the public; conduct a full inventory of all data sets.
- May not always be necessary to provide "new" datasets, but agencies may be able to provide "improved" datasets: More usable formats, more easily identifiable, more readily available
- "Value" can be determined by how the data is used: statistical data, uasable data, citizen interest data
- Determine what the "up-sides" to the data might be: What is their worth to the agency, to the public? Will the release ensure better customer Service?
- Ask stakeholders what information they want.
