During the Open Government Directive Workshop Series, we will be running experiments in online participation and collaboration.  The purpose is to efficiently blend face-to-face and online collaboration in a way that maximizes the strengths of each.

During the workhops, we will be using the tools listed below.  You are more than welcome to add a tool and lead a online collaboration experiment that other workshop participants can join.

Documenting Knowledge

• The OpenGov Playbook- a wiki for collaborative writing and a directory to discussions going on elsewhere on the Web

Discussion Tools

• GovLoop- a social network for federal, state, and local government employees plus contractors.  Here is the Open Government Directive Workshop Group on GovLoop.
• A Google Group for discussing the OpenGovernment Directive through email.
• Federal Wave for advanced discussions using Google's latest discussion tool, Google Wave (requires a Google Wave account)
• The Twitter hashtag is #opengovpb and here is a link to monitor the chatter on Twitter during the event.
• On IRC, we are at irc.freenode.net #opengovpb
• FreeConference.Com for free conference calls.
• For discussion about specific pages on this wiki (the OpenGov Playbook), each page has a space for discussion at the bottom.
• Via email, you can ask the presenters questions by sending them to questions@opengovplaybook.org.
